Class Description:

All children are born with the ability to learn ANY language!  Early childhood is the best time for language acquisition when exposed on a consistent basis. Research supports that language learning is most effective through social interactions.This class will center around simple sentence structure & vocabulary, repetition, intonation & sounds through a nurturing, family-centered immersive experience. Each 4 week session will be built around a central theme.  Each week will consist of a structured yet very fun class routine which will include a variety of songs, activities, movement, games, story time, sensory activities, arts & crafts, puppets interactions and more. 

This is a high energy family class. Children must attend class with a parent or caregiver.

About Señorita Kim, the Spanish teacher: 

Señorita Kim is a NYS Certified Spanish teacher and her B.A. in Spanish from SUNY Geneseo and her Ed.M. in Adolescent Foreign Language Education through the University at Buffalo. She has been teaching Spanish for 10 years to children from pre-school age through seniors in high school. She studied abroad in both Valencia, Spain and San José, Costa Rica.  She currently teaches high school Spanish in Webster, but is very excited to teach sessions to younger students again! She has a two year old daughter and want to share the joy of language with other young children.She is a strong believer of language acquisition through games, songs and play and is excited to share her passion for the Spanish language.

Any siblings over 1 year attending MUST be registered as well.

music and movement:

Class Description:

Together with a caregiver, toddlers are introduced to a structured class where we explore instruments, musical props and music together. Children will practice gross motor skills such as jumping, hopping, running, turning and balancing. We will also focus on fine motor skills as we learn new fingerplays and sing familiar songs like "The Itsy Bitsy Spider." Children will also practice keeping a beat with rhythm sticks and enhancing their hand-eye coordination. The repetition of activities and songs assists participation, language development, and memory. This high-energy class encourages children (and adults) make new friends, too!  

Any siblings over 1 year attending MUST be registered as well.

Recommended Ages: 1-5 years
